california adventures, leg two.
so after wearing out our welcome at sam and jenny’s, we headed down to irvine to spend a few days with my brother and his wife. mikey got pretty good at entertaining himself with the ‘toys’ he found at their place.
“think i can fit this golf ball in my mouth?”
“aw, that was nothin’. how about a real challenge?” (fyi, mikey has a surprisingly BIG mouth for such a little guy. my brother kept worrying that he’d get lockjaw!)
here’s mikey with daddy and uncle johnny at a restaurant at the block. mikey loves to eat (especially restaurant food)!
my brother and sister-in-law had to work during the days, so we got to sneak in some family time at laguna beach! here’s mikey’s first encounter with the ocean. he enjoyed it more than this particular picture conveys, but it’s one of the very few tolerable ones of myself! hee hee.
like i said before, this boy LOVES to eat! here he is with the ‘kid’s meal’ that phil ordered for him. this was the BIGGEST kid’s meal i’ve ever seen- teriyaki chicken, rice, tempura, four california rolls, and salad! we all actually ate off of mikey’s plate in addition to the yummy sushi we had.
our last morning in irvine, we all went to have breakfast at a hole-in-the-wallish place. seriously, we ate and ate and ATE this whole trip! now you can see why i’m currently reading what i’m reading. heh. anyway, here is auntie joanna, mikey, and uncle johnny at breakfast.
and finally, we stopped over for a quick visit at the nahs’ new apartment before heading over to my mom’s place (aka leg three). mikey sure liked chillin’ with katherine!
