our little guy is sick. he woke up yesterday morning feverish and hot to the touch. eek! tried to give him some baby tylenol which he promptly threw up along with the little breakfast i managed to get in him. ugh, it’s a PAIN trying to get a onesie with throw-up on it over the head of a screaming tot. most of it somehow ends up on me. i ended up smelling like throw-up for the rest of the day as it happened two more times.
mikey’s fever steadily grew worse and settled around 103F.
poor little guy spent most of the day lying on his bear. i’ve never seen him so lethargic. and of course, yesterday had to be the one day where our phone line mysteriously dies and phil has the cell phone. trying to remain calm, i’m thankful the Lord stepped in that moment and reminded me that He was in control of mikey’s life and that He would provide care for him when i could not.
such a helpless feeling but yet a grateful feeling to know that i have a great God upon whom i can completely depend on. i’d like to say that i was able to stay totally cool. i didn’t. i fell apart in the late afternoon as i was holding mikey who was screaming and burning hot and i ran out of things to try and help him.
when our phone finally worked again, a kind nurse directed me to an urgent care clinic that was open in the evening and was first come first serve. i took mikey in, where it was found that he has an ear infection in his left ear. i was able to get the prescribed antibiotic at the clinic that night and gave mikey his first dose of it before bed.
kinda a rough night as mikey kept waking up from being so hot still.
but joy cometh in the morning! he woke up his usual happy self and his little body felt gloriously normal (not hot, not cold) again. ahhh, what joy to hold a WARM, happy baby again! he must have felt tons better as he kept showing me how he could stand on his own (no steps though) and laughing at his new skill.
my God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do…

Oh, I remember Aidan’s first ear infection–so sad that they can’t tell you where they hurt! I’m so glad he recovered so quickly. THANK YOU LORD FOR ANTIBIOTICS!

How would you know they’re overrated unless you’ve had them? And how do you know they taste like fruit roll up? YUCK YUCK YUCK! hahaha.
*ahem* on a serious note, poor Mikey. and poor mommy. here are my sympathies. : )
