phil and i went on a date last friday! 
we got tickets to go see the cirque du soleil corteo show since it’s playing here in town. (jane, it’s headed to san jose in january!) it definitely felt weird to be out without mikey and get to see the whole show undistracted. i felt like a kid again!

and mikey did great with his babysitter, our good friend adam. i was a bit concerned since we had to leave him in the middle of his nap and wasn’t sure how he’d react to waking up without us there. turns out, he didn’t miss a beat- he even rested his head on mr. adam’s shoulder for 15 minutes! they had a grand old time watching a baby einstein dvd, eating goldfish crackers and grapes, and playing with toys. so long, stranger anxiety! *whew!*
and the fun didn’t end there- we had ourselves a family day at the arboretum on saturday. random fact: this place was named one of the top ten gardens in america by ‘usa today’. we went to see if the leaves had turned yet, some did, but we also got to see some very pretty gardens and just enjoy being outdoors together.
seems like mikey’s favorite was the ‘sensory garden’ since it was okay to touch and smell the different flowers in there. here’s mikey attempting to pick a flower.

mmm! chocolate mint! mikey decided to see if it tasted as good as it smelled. it didn’t.
ok so, it appears that much of the weight i’ve gained so far in this pregnancy has gone to my FACE. but looky here! my son looks like ME for once!

not many of the leaves have changed color yet, but here are a few autumn pics
on our way home, we stopped at the apple barn for some yummy, crunchy honey crisp apples!
boy, it sure is NICE to have daddy around on the weekends again!

i love the one with him and the leaves! are you even showing yet? you look the same to me. 🙂 it was just the angle of the picture that made your face shape a little different. you guys have such great family outings. i hope you are feeling better so you can xanga more often. 🙂

there’s a place called ‘yummy yummy’ on the east bank of campus at washington and oak st, and it honestly has the best korean food i’ve had in minnesota. you and phil should check it out sometime.
