phil had a rare weekend off- no call at the hospital, no traveling, no research papers to write, no studying (well, he always has something he should be studying, but never mind that! heh). so it was great to spend both days all together!
saturday we went to the minnesota children’s museum. it was soooo crowded, guess everyone else wanted to get out of the house in spite of the super cold weather. we *think* mikey had a good time, hard to tell though since he was still adjusting to sleeping in his new bed and was already tired by the time we got to the museum.
there was lots to see in the museum and great because mikey could run around and touch everything in the different galleries. phil and i also learned a thing or two as well. for instance, we learned that our boy is 2 1/2 feet tall. exactly half his mommy’s height!
there was a restaurant set up (kinda random, but it was a korean restaurant!) that the kids could play in. ‘bob’, anyone?
another room that the boy enjoyed. anything with cars or trucks in it is sure to be a hit with mikey!
the ‘water works’ room seemed to be his favorite. he would have happily stayed there all day putting ping pong balls into the tubes. he seemed to think it was his job though, he was so serious about the task!
mikey and mommy in the ‘habitot’ area. great place for littler kids to run around in. i thought it was cute (though maybe a little excessive?) that all the corners and lower walls were padded for the kids’ safety.
peering in to the ice fishing hole.
it would be fun to go back again sometime, but definitely when it’s not so crowded!

that place looks like so much fun. and how wierd is that that they had a Korean restaurant set up there? leave it to them to spell it “bob”

heeey! weren’t a lot of the exhibits at the Minnesota Children’s Museum designed by Ned Khan?? he created the sculptures in the Children’s Garden at the Huntington Library and a lot of exhibits at the California Science Center. did you happen to see plaques with his name on them?? i love his work, so creative and ingenious.
Mikey looks so big and tall!!
