another day in the park
phil just had his one weekend off for the month, and it was a beautiful one! funny to think how warm it was then as we’re now about to be hit by the first snowstorm of the season. nothing like minnesota weather to keep you on your toes!
we spent saturday afternoon going for a walk in crosby regional park in st. paul.
then we spent some time hanging out by the mississippi river.
mikey got to indulge in one of his favorite pastimes: throwing rocks into the water.
allie enjoyed sitting with daddy and watching the boats go by.

it was the perfect day for…
kayaking, boating,
fishing, or enjoying a picnic lunch together.
on the way home, we drove past this cute little cafe. with the name “bread and chocolate” and a line out the door, our lunch prospects looked quite promising.
yum, lunch!
of course we also had dessert- a chocolatey pastry and a cream cheese-filled croissant, but mikey and daddy sampled them before i could take a picture of them.

being in minnesota is worth it just for the pictures! such great pictures. and allie is just too too cute!! woah….i don’t think i could pass a place called bread and chocolate and not stop there. it’s marketing genius!

i saw in the paper about the snow storm that is supposed to hit, wow, so soon. kinda hard to think that the mississippi river stretches that far. nice pictures as usual.

The Mississippi is more narrow than I would have thought. It looks like you could swim across if you wanted to. It’s kind of cool too that Mikey is throwing with his left hand.

So good to see Phil carry Allie in the baby carrier! Well, I must say, you all make good use of your time off. I am convicted. I think we need more days off. We rarely go anywhere…even the beach that it is just 15 minutes away! Congrats to ya’ll.
