october’s date night
we had our monthly date-at-home this past saturday night. it was my turn to plan it, so i picked up a 22 oz. prime rib dinner and ‘mosquito bites’ appetizer from timber lodge steakhouse after we put the kids down for the night. i also got a big piece of dulce de leche cake from byerly’s market. i did say before that these date nights should be more special than a rent-a-movie night, but we were both so beat, i ended up renting ‘little manhattan’.
turned out to be great! we both really enjoyed our dinner and spending the time together. definitely worth it to wait to have dinner after the kids are sleeping. we didn’t even end up watching the movie that night and just caught a rerun of ‘deal or no deal’.
it’s phil’s turn to plan next month’s date so i’m looking forward to seeing what he’ll think of and especially looking forward to another yummy restaurant meal.
in the meantime, feel free to share ideas of non-movie things you’ve done for “d-a-h” nights. i’d love to hear them!
btw, we did finally watch ‘little manhattan’ last night. such a cute movie about puppy love. the haircut sequence made me cringe though and made me conclude that i will no longer be cutting mikey’s hair. let a professional do it.

I would like to offer advice, but we go out for a date about every 3 months. I attempted to plan the one we had Monday, by checking on an early movie at our Tinsletown theatre. Well, there are lots of tinsletowns, so I must have pulled a list from some other state. So when we walked up to the ticket counter, we were out of luck. We headed to Blockbuster and grabbed a few videos. We had dinner out though 🙂

sounds yummy…a lot of prime rib too. what are mosquito bites? or am i just stupid and haven’t been anywhere that doesn’t offer crayons and kid’s menus. sorry, no suggestions here, you have surpassed me in the date area, even if it is at home. but then again, to watch a non-animated DVD at home is a luxury, and any night i don’t have to cook or even reheat is pure heaven!!!

Sometimes our date nights is a nice leisure walk at night. It is so peaceful and something I like forward to.
