momma’s day out
er, just the morning actually. i have a standing date with allie every 4 hours.
yesterday, my good friend lorie and i got to enjoy some time off together while our husbands took over kid-care duties. it was great fun and definitely a refreshing time. we had about 3 hours and packed in as much as we could. we started off getting coffee at starbucks, then headed over to walk around at the mall.
there, we decided to get manicures. i’m the hand on the right.
then we went to muffuletta cafe for an early lunch. we had wanted to go out for tea, but didn’t make reservations early enough. aw well, guess that means we’ll just have to have another outing for that! we were both looking forward to eating in a restaurant sans kiddos and were feeling adventurous with our menu choices. no mac ‘n cheese this time!
lorie had ‘the muffuletta’ (with four different kinds of meat!) which was served with home-made sweet potato chips.
and i had the ‘salmon rillette’ which was poached salmon mixed with smoked salmon and creme fraiche and was served with croustade and mixed greens. kind of like a deconstructed salmon salad sandwich.
good times, good times. definitely gotta do that more often! big thanks to lorie for hanging out with me and major kudos to phil for taking such good care of mikey and allie while i was away. they all did great even though i was a bit late getting back home!

pretty nails, and wow, what’s it like going to lunch without booster seats and crayons?!? Congrats on the hours off of kiddos.
