florida, part 1

finally, here’s a recap of our trip to florida.  it feels like it was so long ago already!  maybe posting our pics will make me feel like i’m back on vacation…  i’m feeling about ready for a vacation from this stressful month!  actually, i’m just really thankful that our family is healthy again.  allie’s got an appointment with an ent doctor on tuesday, but she’s back to her normal self for the most part.

our version of “traveling light”.  this is as good as it gets with two little ones in tow.  phil and i shared one medium-sized suitcase for all our stuff for the week and all the other bags held all of mikey and allie’s clothes and gear.  sheesh.

our good friends, the schnells, came with us on vacation and phil rented us a four bedroom house with a pool to stay in while in florida so that we could divide up the rooms and let mikey and jenna have their own rooms to sleep in.  the house was really nice and we were really happy to have more room than a hotel could offer.  but, we ran into some trouble as the pool wouldn’t heat up and we weren’t able to go in with the water being so cold.  phil dealt with the less-than-helpful rental manager and we ended up moving into a different house the day after we arrived.  it was a headache and a bummer that we lost some time dealing with moving houses and all.  but the pool was nice and toasty warm in the second house, and the kids still got their own rooms to sleep in.  so no more dwelling on the negative, on to more pictures of the happier times!

that evening we went to the boston lobster feast for dinner.  they also had crab.  rawr!
