another museum adventure
thanks to the free library passes, we got to visit the mill city museum last thursday evening. the museum chronicles the story of the flour milling industry that flourished in minneapolis (then known as “mill city”) using the water power provided by the mississippi river.
here’s what’s left of the washburn a mill (much of the building was burned in 1991 when a homeless person sought shelter in the empty building and built a fire in there for warmth). it looked kinda creepy at night…
mikey really enjoyed playing in the water lab. no one else was in there that night so mikey pretty much had free rein to play.
he also liked pushing the train in the miniature town display.
meanwhile, phil got a private tour.
and here he is feeling 20 pounds of water pressure build on his hand.
and allie? well, she thoroughly enjoyed the free bread sample she got.
as we drove away, phil commented, “there was a lot more stuff to do in there than i expected!” we all agreed that it was quite an enjoyable evening.

looks like fun to me…yum bread. we took ian into some sourdough factory tour they have at Disney’s California Adventure and they handed him a slice of sourdough bread (not thinking he would enjoy it at 9 months) he devoured it.

It’s great that your family can enjoy the unique things about Minneapolis. When in Rome…

i love it when something you have low expectations for ends up being really fun. sounded like a nice family evening out.
