she’s growin’ up!
allie’s become quite the moving machine lately. just within the last month, she’s perfected her wobbly crawl much to mikey’s delight who loves to get down and crawl with her. she’s figured out how to sit up by herself. and she’s busily trying to figure out how to pull herself up as well. my little baby keeps insisting on growing up!
also in her quest to leave babyhood behind, she’s apparently decided that i’m yesterday’s news. her very last time nursing was sunday morning and she’s completely weaned now. it started with a nursing strike a month ago when she’d only nurse first thing in the morning and refuse the rest of the day. so after two weeks of trying to get her over the strike, i gave up and decided to let her wean. which meant she had to learn to drink from a sippy cup since we didn’t really get her to take a bottle before. and i figured we’d go straight to a sippy and skip over the bottle to prevent another transition in a few months. it’s sorta working in that she hated the bottle and prefers the sippy (she actually does better holding it herself than when i hold it for her), but prefers grown-up food most of all.
but thankfully, she’s not ready to leave me in the dust just yet. when she’s all done exploring the world, she always crawls back to me, and sticks up her little arms to ask for some snuggle time with mommy. that’s when she becomes my baby again. 
so it’s a bit overdue, but i finally took the mobile off her crib this morning. mikey was fascinated by the process and kept asking to play with the different pieces. i explained to him that allie didn’t need the mobile anymore so it was time to put it away for the next baby. which ended up in the following conversation:

Oh man…they are growing up fast! I can’t believe you were able to BF Allie till she is almost a year old. My goal is to make it to 6 months. Mikey is such a easy-going kid. I remembered I didn’t want any siblings…I was so mad at Alan when he was born…LOL. Poor kid.

wow, time flies…i remember waiting in anticipation for her birth, now she is all done with nursing and growing up so fast. Another baby huh? i don’t think i could handle another one, and my second one isn’t even born yet, ha ha, ha. but you guys make pretty cute babies!!

yeah, i thought it would be a cute picture at first, but maybe because she is a girl i dunno, and then because who knows who is really looking at our xanga’s you know? maybe i’ll just take one anyway for my memory’s sake, but not post it. 🙂
