what?! what time is it?!
thanks everyone for your care and concern for us. we’re doing well- we had our time of being sad but overall, just feel great thankfulness for the way God took care of us in the past week. health-wise, i’m doing fine and didn’t need any medical stuff done, so we’re thankful for that. we’ve been extra thankful for mikey and allie too, just looking at them and being so happy that they’re part of our family and are healthy and thriving. and even being thankful for how busy life has been for us lately– just keeping up after two active little ones has really helped keep me from dwelling on all the many what-ifs which would have driven me nuts.
but now, it’s crazy to look at the calendar and realize we’re on the very last day of may! we leave in exactly 19 days.
time to start emptying out the pantry. time to really get serious about packing. (ugh). time to get some things crossed off my many to-do lists. time to get rid of even more stuff.
it’s definitely time.
in phil news, today/tonight is his very last call night as an intern. it just so happened to work out that he’ll be excused from his last three calls (due to ‘intern skip day’, his transitional graduation party, and someone filling in for him). he won’t have call for a whole TWO months! we’re all looking forward to that. phil also just took step 3 of the boards this past saturday and tuesday (it’s a two-day long test. yuck.). now that the the test is over with, i think he’s kinda mentally checked out as the poor guy overslept for the first time all year yesterday morning. overslept by almost 3 hours!! he awoke with a jolt, bolted out of bed, yelled, “what?! what time is it?!” and then yelled something else (we’re still debating what he actually said ), brushed his teeth for a couple seconds (and then didn’t even get to rinse off the brush!) and dashed off to work.
thankfully, he came home that afternoon and said it actually worked out fine because he didn’t have any patients so everyone thought he was just taking the day off. so no one even paged him or anything. nice. and he also gets this saturday off, too! yes, happy days are here again.
