table for two
eugene and esther kindly agreed to babysit the munchkins so that phil and i could go out on a date last saturday night. it was a belated anniversary celebration, just the two of us. so while e & e kept the kids happily entertained with play doh, books, and plenty of snacks, we slipped out for dinner.
i asked phil where we were going once we were in the car and his only answer was, “the restaurant.” even when pressed to tell me which restaurant, the answer was still the same. we ended up here:
on a side note, phil and i celebrated our one-year dating anniversary at ports-o-call eight years ago. feels kinda weird to be back, in a full-circle sort of way.
phil had reserved us a table, requesting one by the windows so that we could see the boats and ships passing by while we ate. pretty cool. here’s a fire boat. we both thought mikey would have enjoyed seeing that one since he’s really been in to fire engines and sirens lately.
we didn’t get a very good picture of the two of us together, but here we are separately at our table for two.
phil, about to dive into his “ports o’ call cioppino”. man, he looks so tired. poor guy. it’s been a rough month.
after dinner, we had just enough time to squeeze in a round of mini-golf. we haven’t done that in years! turned out to be pretty fun and made us feel like kids again. i started off strong and came in under par for the first few holes, but then faded on the back nine and phil ended up with the win. i want a rematch!

Looks like a fun place to eat…and how romantic to be at “the restaurant” with so many memories. That Phil…he thinks of everything. I agree, though, he does look more tired than I’ve ever seen him. Poor guy. You look great, though!

I’m glad you had a good time. Oh yeah… would you mind if I borrowed some of your Robotech DVD collection to watch sometime this summer?

Happy Belated anniversary! and yeah to having family babysitters nearby. We know they can make all the difference. You guys do look good and the tired Phil reminds me of tired Dave. I asked him who we should have over to dinner for a cookout and he was so tired he said you! 🙂 Quite a trip for dinner… We miss u!
