so phil and i just got new cell phones as part of our official re-entry into southern california. it’s been so long since i’ve had a cell phone that my last (and formerly only) one didn’t have a color screen, take pictures, play music, text message, or let you play cool games. basically, it was just used for talking on the phone. my, how times have changed. so last night, i was helping phil set up his voicemail stuff. here’s a bit of our conversation as phil was using my phone to call his phone to listen to his recorded message (don’t ask, long story):
phil: how do you get to my number?
me: just press ‘2’, you’re in my speed dial.
phil [a little hurt]: who’s 1?
me: uh sorry, you’re just number 2 in my book… dude, voicemail is always 1!
a few minutes later, i look over to see phil lying down on the couch with his hand holding the phone up to his ear… sound asleep! poor guy.

I never really utilized the speed dial. Then again my hands have always been too clumsy for tiny cell phone buttons anyway.

paul is hurt that he is number 2 on my list too. so it has been a long time since you had a cell phone, it is hard to find a phone now a days that just is for calls. but now that we have kids i like the camera feature and video feature. which ones did you get, we have verizon…i have the pink razor ( the first time i heard of razors i was shocked at the price…i thought someone was trying to sell something to shave legs or pits with
)
