keeping cool
this past week has been so hot. upper 80s-90s. not unbearably hot by any means, but still quite warm for the coast. and our one little window a/c definitely hasn’t been able to keep the place cool. especially when i have to run the dryer. that’s located in the hall closet. with no outside vent. ugh. we’ve sure been missing central air! phil is *this* close to buying another portable a/c but i want to hold off and see if we can make it through without it. we’re pretty sure we want to move after our lease is up next year and i think one of the things high on the list will be central air. right after a washer/dryer that is up to code and not a fire hazard. thankfully, it looks like temps will be back in the comfy 70s for next week.
so today, the kids cooled off the old-fashioned way (there’s water in the turtle pool under all the balls). my little monkey refused to turn around for this picture, so here’s the back of his head.
things got more interesting when i got out the hose to spray them down (and water those plants next to them). i thought it was great fun. allie was amused. mikey was not. but they both perked up when i brought out frozen yogurt drinks for them.
cheers!

As your children get older…Mikey looks for like Phil and Allie looks for like you!

too cute, that would kinda freak me out about the dryer. here’s hoping the year goes by quick so you can move into a better place.
