queen mary
this past saturday we had the opportunity to tour the queen mary in long beach. phil figured it’d be a good place to let the kids run around since it’s such a big ship and all. 
it was a long walk to enter the ship, made even longer since allie insisted on walking by herself much of the way. going side to side instead of forward. 
and made even longer since i couldn’t resist taking lots of pictures of her walking self!
finally aboard, we checked out these replicas where you could see the different rooms inside the ships.
i looooved little miniature stuff like this when i was a kid. being that i always wanted a dollhouse as a kid but never got one, i already got phil to agree to build one for allie. whether she wants it or not. heh heh, cuz then i can secretly go and play with it myself!
we passed by this control panel on our way to see the engine room.
never fear, mikey’s at the helm!
it was cool to see the different periods of history this ship went through, including serving during wwII.
mikey tried out one of the army bunks. crazy that a grown man slept in that bunk since it seemed it be just mikey’s size!
the shiny steering room at the front of the ship. hey! who’s that kid playing in there beyond the clearly marked off area?! some parents… 
shuffleboard, anyone?

I just realized that Deirdre and Allie are very close in age! Deirdre’s birthday is April 4, when’s Allie’s?
And wow, you guys have such neat “field trips”! Now I want to go and see the Queen Mary, too! My kids would love that.

Looks like a lot of fun! I didn’t know Phil was a doll house builder! Cool! Allie sure is growing up with all that walking. I see she is sportin’ some cute little girl bangs now too. Whose idea was that? 😉
