averill park
phil was post-call today and came home around ten this morning, went straight to bed and slept a few hours. he woke up in the afternoon just in time to join us for an outing to averill park. the park is only a mile and a half away from where we live and the kids really enjoy going there to see the ducks. we stopped at the store where phil bought a loaf of fresh french bread before heading to the park.
ok, so i know you’re not supposed to feed the ducks, and we’ll refrain from it in the future, but we decided to let the kids feed some of the bread to them this time.
allie thought this was great fun.
phil got pretty in to it too!
pretty soon though, the kids decided it was more fun to pretend they were ducks themselves.
mikey tried to join the duck ranks.
allie’s following in her big brother’s footsteps and now has to pick up sticks wherever we go.
mikey practicing his golf stance.
there’s this guy who’s always at a corner of the park trying to sell fruit from a little cart. we felt bad for him since it didn’t seem like he was selling much. so we bought some strawberries from him that mikey picked out.

You have ducks in California? Just kidding. Looks like a beautiful park. I love the tree hanging over the river in Phil’s pitching shots. Looks like Mikey’s on his way to becoming the next Tiger Woods! Too bad Allie’s shirt doesn’t say I Love MN. Maybe she needs one for Christmas.
