keepin’ me in stitches

mikey’s lately been cracking us up with the things he’s been saying.  i wanted to write these down before i forget them.

after lunch today, i picked him up from his seat and gave him a big bear hug.  mikey protested, “don’t squeeze me mommy, i’m not lemonade!”

a few nights ago we were eating dinner in a restaurant booth.  mikey comes and stands next to me, chummily slings his arm around my shoulder and declares, “this is my girl, mommy.”  phil and i had a good laugh over that one.

and yes, yes, i promise vacation pics and recap coming soooon.  i meant to do it over the weekend but then caught allie’s cold and am now feeling like my head is stuffed with cotton balls while my nose has completely plugged up yet still insists on dripping non-stop.  my first cold in five years and man, i forgot how miserable being sick is!  gives me a whole new level of compassion for my poor kids who seem to catch colds every other week!

btw, thank you all my dear friends for the congrats and being excited for the new baby.  it means a lot to me to be able to share this with you, even though it’s here online.  and lorie, sorry, no pics of me with growing belly.  remember how i tend to put a lot weight in my FACE and it gets rounder and rounder??  no exception with this baby and no, it’s not a pretty sight.
