i told the kids the baby would have presents for them in the hospital– allie got a play purse and mikey got a lightning mcqueen remote control car.
bonding with daddy:
phil ended up spending a good amount of time sleeping and recovering from a bout of dizziness while we were in the hospital. most likely from staying up for 72 hours with about 4 hours’ sleep total!
our good little sleeper:
the hospital provided me and phil a special celebration dinner the day after lauren was born. it was nice to enjoy the meal together. though lauren did pick that one time to be fussy, so we took turns holding her while the other one ate. phil rented a dvd (national treasure 2) for us to watch as well, so it was like a real mini-date!

I thought your room looked big…it was HUGE! How nice. Poor Phil…what a trooper. What in the world is a celebration dinner? Hospital food restaurant style? Looks good to me! Absolutely love the “girls” shot!! Allie is growing up way too fast…look at all of those teeth! And you…still as lovely as ever…and even just after giving birth! Lauren is a beauty too…look at all that hair!

that meal looks like the same one i got (both times)…and both times my kids decided to be fussy. After Ian i became a fast eater! Lauren looks like her mama…just a pretty picture. So did you get an epidural and all that good stuff? you look very comfortable for being in labor.

Thanks for sharing all the pictures. You DO look so happy for being in labor. I know I wasn’t that happy in triage! Lauren is adorable and such a little peanut. Congratulations again on your cute, wonderful family. I like the sibling picture of Mikey and Allie checking Lauren out–very sweet. I also like the idea of a celebration dinner. I don’t think Methodist does that but I think I will send the in-laws out to get our celebration dinner! ha!
