vacation recap, part four

the day before we left for palm springs, we were able to take our kids and our friends’ kids to the circus and chuck e. cheese’s.  we had been wanting to do something with this family since they are the ones who babysit our kids for us the most often.  so anyway, phil came up with this idea and it ended up being really fun for all of us!

six kids vs. two adults…  we were very outnumbered, but all the kids were very well-behaved and made it really easy on us.  feeding them lots and lots of snacks didn’t hurt, either.

some shots of the various circus performers…

i think this performer might have hurt himself right after this stunt.  he jumped off to get down, but missed the platform and dropped down to the ground.  he landed on his feet, but it was a pretty hard landing.  he grimaced and was limping a little when he exited, so i hope he was okay!

there weren’t too many animals in this circus besides these horses.

the final act– a motorcycle going round and round in this circular cage.

then two motorcycles!  it was really loud at this point which kinda scared the kids.  the girls came and sat with me (phil and i sat in the row behind them), and the boys were all covering their ears.  but i thought it was pretty cool!

then we headed to chuck e. cheese’s for dinner.  which i think the kids loved even more.  we didn’t tell them where we were headed, but all of them started screaming with delight when they saw the restaurant (is it even considered a restaurant?) as we drove up to it.  imagine a van full of kids all shrieking.

all in all, it was a very fun day and i’m glad we were able to fit it in during phil’s time off!

our trip to palm springs is coming next!
