Bright and early (how do they do that after going to sleep so late??) the next morning, all were up and at ’em.
And this is how they wanted to start their day.
Allie got right out there with the boys in the midst of the Nerf darts flying about.
Though not so much to be a shooter, but to serve as dart dispenser.
Then the big boy went out into the fray.
It was every man for himself.
And it was hilarious.
Meanwhile, breakfast was just about ready. Only, it didn’t quite look like this once the seven hungry kids gathered at the table.
This was the calm before the storm.
Then it was time to hastily grab an assortment of candies (no need for cutesy goody bags here when plain brown paper sacks get the job done just as well. Boys. Gotta love ’em.)
Before heading out to the last part of the boss tenth birthday sleepover celebration. This is the best I could do with rounding them up for a group pic. Boys. Gotta love ’em.
Only we got there ten minutes before the place opened. So there was some waiting to be done first.
When we finally did get in, we saw this cute feeding station all set up behind us. I initially thought it was set up for someone else’s party but it turned out to be for us! Woo hoo! Cheese and pepperoni pizzas, and mini cheeseburger sliders at the ready.
Oh and all you can drink root beer.
And this giant birthday cookie, too.
Did I not mention what we were there to do?
We were there to bowl.
And celebrate knocking pins down.
And perfect our form.
And give each other moral support.
And make good use of that bowling ball holder liner-upper thingamajig.
And give each other high fives.
Lots of high fives. Though I was feeling much like that bear there by this point in the festivities.
But we weren’t done yet! There were arcade games that needed playing next.
Fun for all ages. Though don’t tell the little guy that he wasn’t actually the one driving here.
And an I-didn’t-know-these-even-existed FOUR WAY air hockey table.
And then we stumbled upon this little gem of a game.
Pretty much you pushed a button and you hit the jackpot of 400 tickets. Beast.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure it was malfunctioning, but it sure made her day.
And hers.
And his.
And okay, all of theirs too. Best. Game. Ever.
And that was how we launched our firstborn into the double-digits.
Happy birthday, Mikey. You are a blessing and a gift to us. We love you.
