Our First Thanksgiving

Throwback to our very first Thanksgiving together. We had just moved out to Minnesota after getting married that summer. We didn’t know anybody out there yet. So, I attempted to make a Thanksgiving meal for just the two of us in our teeny tiny 495 sq foot apartment. I had no idea what I was doing so most of it came from a box and/or a can. We didn’t have any dinnerware to speak of, or even really any furniture. Still, we were thankful to God for His goodness to us, for the meal, for bringing us together and for the new start to our life in a new place. Not unlike the very first Thanksgiving, actually. I’m thankful for all the sweet thanksgiving memories through the years, for dear family and friends, and for God who blesses far more abundantly than I deserve.
