Grandpa came for a visit just before Halloween. We always love when Grandpa comes to visit. The kids love spending time with him. Phil and I do too, but we also love that having Grandpa here means we can slip out after the kids are in bed for little date nights. I think we went out to the movies three nights in a row! Always a fun little bonus when Grandpa is here.
While Grandpa was here, we decided to go check out the little train exhibit set up at the South Bay Botanic Garden.
Look! It’s a giant about to attack this sweet little village!
Our little guy was too short to be able to see the train tables unless someone picked him up. Except for this one little viewing window of a subway train running underneath the trains above. Perfect height for him.
And since we were there, thought we might as well mosey around the gardens, too.
You know, just to see what we’d see.
Unfortunately the little water well wasn’t working on this visit. Much to Jonah’s disappointment.
He was quickly cheered again though when we discovered there was another train set up outside, too.
The kids love this big grassy area where they can run free. The big kid loves it too, I think.

Love them. Even with fake smiles coming from a couple of them.
Real smiles come out when I tell them to say, “Grandpa farts.” Ahh, potty humor never gets old.
Yet another fun afternoon spent in the gardens. Love that place.
