Making the Most of It, part 2

Okay, so the obvious has happened in that I was not able to catch up here on the blog last month because last month happened to be December and I count it a blessing that it was a very full month with family and friends and fun things and celebrating how Love came down to us. Which meant that my game did not increase from two posts a week and rather decreased to one post a week, if that. And now, poor little Thanksgiving is still patiently waiting to be acknowledged around here.

Buuuut, it’s all good. January is looking to be nice and uneventful and I’m brimming with New Year resolution to keep plugging away and one day I’ll get there and be current to the times. Ha ha. Until then however, back to early November we go…

Day two of our little weekend getaway:

Kids rose bright and early and Mikey put Daddy right to work building his latest Lego acquisition. Daddy wondered aloud why kids getting new toys always means increased work for him. I merely smiled, patted him on the head, and carried on. I'm glad I'm not the dad.

Then we mostly pulled ourselves together and headed out to see the sights. That's Allie keeping a finger on her sunglasses because she was afraid they'd slip off, fall through one of the cracks of the pier, drop into the ocean never to be seen again. Irrational? Not if you take into account how she managed to lose one of her flip flops in just the same way the last time we made them walk on a pier.

There was a sign that said pelicans bite stupid people. Or pelicans have long beaks and aren't afraid to use them. Or something to that effect. So naturally they had to see exactly how close they could get...
