Because life has that insistent way of continuing on and because we promised the kids, we came home from the funeral to a tree eagerly waiting to be decorated. Or maybe it wasn’t so much the tree that was eager to get the decorating underway but more the four little people bouncing around it.
The annual, kinda random, sit-on-the-tree shot taken the night before which is when we bought the tree and got it set up in the living room.
My baby all lit up outside.
But um, excuse me? When did my baby turn into a not-baby? Where did my infant go??
Look! This year, he carefully hangs the ornaments on the tree like a big kid. No more chucking the ornaments into the tree for him!
Quite possibly the one who loves tree decorating time most of all.
This one found a little shelf in the tree to hold some of her little toys. She also claimed they made good ornaments, too.
Then she discovered the real ornaments.
Completely charmed. And the little toys were promptly forgotten. Until I had to fish them out of the dried up, brittle tree four weeks later.
Still working hard at hanging up those ornaments.
Look who even got into tree decorating this year!
We have bigger kids this year which means not all the ornaments get placed on the bottom third of the tree anymore. They did a nice job making sure the whole tree got decorated. Standing on the edge of the couch also helped with this.
Gotta make sure the UCLA ornaments get placed where they can be admired by all.
This year, Allie got the job of putting on the star.
Nice teamwork!
