The actual day of Phil’s big birthday came a couple weeks later.
I made a triple berry cake for the occasion. Whipped cream frosting and being in a hurry don’t go together too well.
The kids tested out the fancy party streamers we hung up to surprise Daddy with.
I think they approved.

And then the kids made homemade pizza for a late dinner.
Anxiously waiting and watching the pizzas bake.
Finally it was cake time.
I just really don’t know about these people.
That’s quite a blaze there, Big Daddy. Don’t get too close if you value your eyebrows.

Got ’em all out in one breath. He’s still got it.
And because the kids were so impressed with that many candles lit up all at once, they wanted to do it again. So we did.
This time they decided Daddy needed help with the blowing.
Whoa, that many candles makes for quite a lot of smoke. Had to open some windows to prevent the fire alarms from going off. 😉
Happy happy birthday, honey. Thanks for making our life so full of joy and laughter. I love you more with each passing year and am looking forward to what God has in store for your next decade!
