And then, just was we were going to wrap it up and head home, Phil took a small detour and we ended up at Universal Citywalk.
Because we weren’t quite ready to let the celebration for this girl with her newly pierced ears in her turquoise swingy dress end just yet.
The plan was to use our annual passes to actually go into Universal Studios, until we discovered that we couldn’t find them in the van. There wasn’t really a backup plan to this spontaneous plan. Until her daddy went up to the customer service window (actually, I don’t even know what window it was), talked our plight over with the nice lady working there who then very nicely printed us up new replacement passes for free. And then she discovered that we were actually blacked out on this day anyway. Was looking like it just wasn’t meant to be. Until the nice lady went ahead and printed us up free passes to enter the park for the day. Woo hoo, thank you for saving the day, nice lady!! In other news, it was very hot that day. So these kids spent some quality time in front of the misters while their daddy got things figured out.
More quality time spent with the misters inside Universal Studios.
We caught the Animal Actors show.
Which was really entertaining.
So much so that the kids wanted to see the show again. So we did. But sat in different seats the second time. Way in the back.
Afterward, the older three and I rode the minion rush ride while the daddy and Jonah hung around outside waiting for us. Too short to ride. Story of his life.
His daddy has a way of making it up to him, though. Gah, save me from these unending stuffed creatures!
Then the older kids and I hopped on the Simpsons ride while the daddy and Jonah found more ways to pass the time.
Yay, another stuffed creature. (Insert appropriate level of sarcasm here.)
Then the daddy let them all play to win even MORE stuffed creatures. AHHHHH!! Oh and it seems that Jonah was not at all down with the idea of letting Lauren have one of his stuffed creatures since he had THREE and she had NONE.
So then the daddy let him play AGAIN. Fourth children get parented much, much, much differently than do first, second, or third children. And that’s all I gots to say about that. Take it up with Mikey. He’ll tell you how it is.
So then, we got not one, but TWO stuffed Maggies, one Krusty, and one big bad guy. Plus the minion from earlier. *smh* (I actually had to look up what that meant before: Shake My Head. Young people these days. *smh*)
And then, before anymore stuffed creatures could finagle their way into our hearts, we called it a day and finally headed home.
Happy, happy birthday my sweet Lauren! You are my heart and I can’t hardly believe you’re seven now. Seriously girl, what’s the rush? I’d be perfectly happy keeping you just exactly as you are for the next several years. You are truly a blessing from God to our family and it gives me such joy to be your mom. Love you my baby.
