Personal The RV Trip! Part 3 September 19, 2015 / The next day went like this: With days filled with plenty of outdoor time and nights spent making s’mores or playing boardgames, there wasn’t much time left for screens. Not to mention very poor wifi, but this boy fit it in where he could, like first thing when he woke up. :/ These two wanted to ride the kiddie train while the other two wanted to go mini golfing (man, those KOA campgrounds have got it figured out!), so we divided and conquered. This nice kid let Allie and Jonah share his seat on the tiny kiddie train. Then he decided he did want to mini golf after all. And he wanted his daddy to help him. This guy tried to play the game for reals. Except this guy kept interfering. The orange ball was blocking his shot, after all. Then they moved onto the giant bouncy thing. Their daddy did a real good job picking both of the RV sites we visited. Then, sadly, it was time to pack up and head on out. But we decided we’d make our way back very slowly and make some stops along the way. First stop- a roadside produce stand called the “Thistle Hut”. Mmm, strawberries! Jonah could already taste them. Mikey was excited to find pickling cucumbers and couldn’t wait to get them home to make some pickles (one of his summer bucket list items). The nice produce man complimented our family and told us he had raised four kids too. Always nice to run into a kindred spirit. The next stop was the Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. Happily, parking the RV wasn’t too big an issue at any of our stops. Surprising how many parking lots accommodate large vehicles. Or, maybe surprising how you never notice such things until you actually need to. Just in time for lunch. This boy wanted crab legs. Lucky punk. This boy just wanted the bib his brother got. To go with his corndog. This girl got a clam chowder bowl all to herself. It was a good lunch. Last installment coming up next.
