Game Day

Just a random early October Saturday in the life of our family…

Jonah’s first season of Ayso soccer on the Blue Sharks team. Turns out the boy loves to play any kind of sport. Except he’s not a fan of the hot. And the sun. The hot sun is his kryptonite. He soon figured out that he preferred to hang back near the goal and just kick the ball in when it came his way to score points and do a few fist pumps.

Though early on, he tried out the center position. “Oh, you want me to kick this ball to you, opposing team players?”

“Psych!”

It appears that we have a jokester on our hands.

Ok, time to get your head in the game and get down to business, boy.

The kind of business where it doesn’t matter how many opposing team players are around you, you aren’t giving up that ball.

And you got your serious game face on, even though your mom thinks it’s the cutest game face ever.

And I don’t know this purple player, but I like him. And his smiley game face.

The good the little sportsmen that they are.

“Good job out there, little bro.” “Thanks, big bro.”

Gah. This face.

In the evening came the second game of our Saturday game day.

As with most events, he was there mostly for the snacks. Snacks are serious business, man.

The Tsai girls.

The Tsai boys.

The Tsai clan.

These girls. I am so thankful they have each other.

He knows how I feel about the endless amount of junks that keep getting brought into the house. But I’m fighting a losing battle here with five against one. He knows it, I know it, and they all know it, too. Grr.
