man, watching olympics is so addicting.  i meant to get this post up earlier this week, but here we are at the week’s end already!  aw well… one thing i really appreciate about phil is that he’s never dismissed valentine’s day as a fake holiday but rather used the day as an opportunity to do something sweet for me.  this year was no different as he informed me in the morning that he would be making dinner for us that evening.  he even inquired about which “seating time” i preferred– giving me the choice between 4pm and 9:30pm (arranged around when the kids are asleep).  i chose the latter. but…

for joyce (and anyone else interested).  from allrecipes.com: JELL-O Popcorn Balls Ingredients: 12 cups popped popcorn 1 cup light corn syrup 1/2 cup sugar 1 pkg. (4 serving size) JELL-O Brand Gelatin, any flavor 1 1/2 cups PLANTERS COCKTAIL Peanuts, coarsely chopped Directions: 1. Place popcorn in large bowl. 2. Mix syrup and sugar in saucepan; bring to boil. Remove from heat. Add gelatin; stir until dissolved. Add peanuts. 3. Pour over popcorn; mix well. Cool about 5 minutes.
