Legoland! Part 1
Ahhh, what a beautiful summer it has been. I think we got to *most* of the kids’ summer bucket list items, with one or two glaring omissions. It has been so full and so fun and so busy and yet so relaxing that I hate to see it end already. We are in our last week before school starts on Monday and I think none of us are quite ready to switch back. Yet on the other hand, having a few quiet hours to myself each week means I can welcome back the things that got omitted what with the kids requesting to be fed every couple of hours. Things…

Summers are for Sleepovers
One of Mikey’s best friends is moving away. Our two families have been very good friends since the time the boys were three years old and in preschool together. We’ve walked through a lot together in the years since. I can hardly think about what it’ll be like once they’re really gone. It’s an unfamiliar feeling being the ones not moving away. I don’t like it. And I can say truthfully that I know God has good things planned in this move for them. I believe that He will work in and through them and I’m excited for their new adventure ahead. Morro Bay
Grandpa took us fishing on the second to last day of our visit. Afterward, we went to Grandpa’s favorite restaurant there and had lunch. Where the kids had things like spaghetti and cheeseburgers. Because there’s nothing like fishing and seeing fish guts that makes you want to… eat something else. Ha.

Sisters
Soon after summer vacation started for the kids, Phil had mentioned that he’d be working quite a lot of hours in an upcoming five-day span and suggested that it might be a good time for me and the kids to go visit the grandparents. So rather than sit around at home counting the hours until Daddy came back, I figured we’d make the drive over. A pleasant discovery this year- the kids are a little bigger now and a little more helpful in terms of being able to pack their own clothes and gear and help load up the van.
