    The Week Off, part 1

    Phil’s annual work conference at Disneyland rolled around the first week of February (GASP- I am actually blogging about an event in our lives IN THE SAME MONTH that it happened. I am just about caught up now. I’m gonna need a minute to soak that in. A goal realized. A mountain climbed. A stream forded (?). A rainbow followed.     Down Came the Rain

    It’s raining pretty hard tonight. The dreary outside is matching my insides right now, too. Phil’s long work hours this week appear to be catching up to him. To me. To us both. After having worked a 24-hour shift the previous weekend and every day since, he had a 36-hour shift from Thursday morning to Friday night and is right back at it today on another 24-hour shift. And another 36-hour shift this coming Thursday. Would be nice if some of those hours included home-call, but no, not at his hospital.     Preschool Snow Day

    So Jonah. I think I’ve mentioned him around here before? Originally, I had been planning to keep Jonah home this year and send him to preschool next year where his brother, his sister, and his other sister all went. That little preschool at the church down the hill has been pretty much the only thing these siblings have had in common- well, that and their parents. Which, you know, is a good thing too. And were each brought home from the hospital in the gray Subaru Forester. And that’s about it. They were born in four different hospitals in two different states, each delivered by a different doctor, and were…
