bad boys, bad boys…
so phil, the kids, and i were in our minivan driving through our neighborhood this afternoon and we noticed several police cars parked around a house a couple blocks away from ours. phil pointed out that the police appeared to have set up a command post with a tent, video monitors, and other equipment. he said it seemed like they’d been there for a while since they felt the need for the sun tent. we commented on the unusual sight since we live in a pretty quiet, peaceful area. we didn’t think much of it after we passed by as our thoughts turned to the indian tandoori buffet lunch we…

valentine’s day 2009
this year, phil gave me the opportunity to choose between a nice handbag and an external flash as a gift for valentine’s day. for me, the choice was obvious! the nikon speedlight sb-600 but it was so sweet that he had been thinking about surprising me with a handbag this year (thought of it all on his own!), and even more sweet that he went online to “do his research” (if you know phil, you know why this little phrase bugs him and why he always puts air quotes around it when he says it) and managed to surprise me with the very thing i had been eyeing but…

sprinkles
we finally got a chance to go to sprinkles and taste these mythic cupcakes for ourselves. i got the girls dressed for the occasion. yes, i have been waiting *that* long to try these puppies out. “hey, what’s that on your shirt?” the kids and i sat down at a table while phil was a good sport and waited in the long line. the line was out the door, but thankfully it moved fast. but someone didn’t think it moved quite fast enough. this same someone was in need of a nap, too. at least mikey waited patiently. my sweet boy… good moods were restored as soon as cupcakes were…

25 random things about me
this list was harder to come up with than i thought! 1. i eat my lunch at 3 pm when all my kids are napping. i eat my dinner at 10 pm when all my kids are down for the night. what can i say, i like to give my food total concentration and my undivided attention. 2. i can go for days without leaving my house. there are stretches ofdays where the only place i go is 1.5 miles down the road to dropoff/pick up mikey from preschool. the rest of the time i am home. with the kids. it is partly because i feel so self-conscious in public…
