    thanksgiving soup

this past monday was the “thanksgiving feast” at mikey’s preschool.  my dad made the long drive down just to be there for mikey.  my dad rocks.  it was so nice to be there at this little celebration together.     making a big circle around the fire:   the kids sang, “we eat turkey” and “we eat pumpkin pie” (to the tune of “where is thumbkin”) and said their verse for this month, “1 thessalonians 5:18, in everything give thanks, thanks, thanks.”  (ps- notice how the boys around mikey chose names with “strong”, “brave”, and “fast”.  my boy chose “twinkle star”.  )   afterwards, the kids joined their families in…

    weekend update

so i know the weekend is long gone and thanksgiving day is nearly upon us.  but i still wanted to post about last weekend– phil had both days off and we tried to make the most of them!  he does get this coming thursday off, but is on call friday, so no nice extra-long weekend off for us this year.  but still, there’s SO MUCH we have to be thankful for, that i can’t complain. anyhoo, last saturday, we took the kids to the la auto show.  it was our first time there (and may be our last!), and it was definitely crowded and a little crazy, but the kids…

Me:  Maybe fish, or spaghetti?  Should I make? Me:  Or go to southbay grill? Phil Tsai:  Why no middle ground?  Lawrys or… No food at all… Me:  Haha.  Roys or water. Me:  What’s middle ground for fish then?  Captain kids?…

    playing hooky…

lately, mikey’s been asking if we could go to disneyland again.  phil was post-call this past friday and suggested we go once he got home.  i reminded him that mikey had preschool.  an executive decision was made to let him play hooky so that we could enjoy a family day together.  well worth it, i say. mikey always asks to ride the train as soon as we get there.  hokey as it may be, he especially loves the dinosaur scene.  we ended up riding around the park twice just so he could see them again.  my happy boy in line for the train:   hooray, the train’s finally here!  …
