    why we need to move

aside from the myriad of odd quirks and idiosyncracies and downright fire hazards found within our current place of residence, the wild critters of the night outside are yet another reason why i can’t wait to move.  here’s the story: so last night, after we put the kids to bed, i was laying on the couch and began to smell a hint of skunk spray seeping into our place.  this happens so often that i hardly noticed it at first.  but it slowly began to grow stronger making me think the skunk must have sprayed somewhere close to our place. meanwhile, phil was busy loading up our double stroller with…

    oh christmas tree…

we finally got a chance to get our tree set up and decorated this past weekend.  it was especially fun this time because mikey was really in to it and wouldn’t let us NOT get one this year.  so it’s crammed into our tiny place, but adds a festive note all the same. meticulously placing each ornament:   allie gave daddy a hand hanging up this ice cream truck ornament:   my two fellas.  see why we call the little one “pocket phil”?    the final touch:   we’re so happy we must now hug:   allie was pretty tired and kept needing to take breaks:   from our humble little home…  merry…

    thanksgiving at ama’s house

phil miraculously got all four days off over thanksgiving weekend, so we took a road trip up north to visit phil’s mom and brother.  since our kids have three grandmas, we’ve decided to call grandma tsai “ama” (taiwanese for grandma).  phil’s mom was delighted with this idea since both kiddos were able to say “ama” to her. it ended up being a jam-packed, yet relaxing little vacation.  i think phil needs to physicially get away from our city in order to really relax and feel like he’s on vacation.  so the time away ended up being refreshing for him as well, which was a great thing. phil’s mom is a…
