    we just found out last night that i’m pregnant again!  we’re so excited and happy to be adding another little one to our family, but are going to wait a couple months before announcing it this time around.  in the meantime, it’s daddy’s and my happy little secret.

    bubbles!

    we found this fun little bubble set at a local japanese market the other day.  not only was it actually made in japan (i thought everything was made in china these days!), but the set contained these unusual bubble blowers.  much easier to use than the regular ones, as allie will demonstrate below.  and happily enough, there were TWO blowers, so we didn’t have to practice patience and taking turns this time around.  making for a much happier afternoon.    see, big brother?  this is how it’s done.   mikey had a bit of trouble at first because he was blowing too hard.  but he got the hang of it in…

    hanging out with the songs

    christine and her kids made the long drive over to spend a day with us last week.  it was so fun to see them again and squeeze in a little time to chat with christine while we kept an eye on our five kiddos.  we started out with a tour at the cabrillo marine aquarium that esther set up for us.  it was really crowded there that day so we spent most of our time in the darkened rooms looking at different aquariums. some of the cool and weird things we saw:   look!  an albino sea cucumber.  when our tour guide, ms. paula was talking about it, christine exclaimed, “hey!  we eat…

    breakfast for dinner

    one of my hopes for the kids is that they will become lifelong readers and fall in love with great stories.  so i try to surround them with good books, take them to storytime at the library, listen to books on tape in the car, even read up on books lists to find the best of the best in children’s books.  because ultimately, i want them to love reading the bible and becoming intimately aquainted with our wonderful God.  i want them to find it very natural to always be reading His word because that’s how the Lord teaches and communicates with us! so this evening, i was reading “if…
