    fall festival

    ok, so i’ve been meaning for the longest time to write about the church we’ve been going to the last few months.  we’ve decided to commit ourselves to lighthouse community church for the time the Lord has us living in the south bay.  and i have to say that it’s been a wonderful fit for our family!  the church is small/medium with maybe 250 people.  the head pastor is a master’s seminary graduate with a bent towards expository preaching.  it has an excellent sunday school/nursery program for mikey and allie (with cute names too– mikey’s in the fireflies class and allie is in gloworms) and every week, mikey comes out with a…

    la zoo

    phil got the day off yesterday and so we went to the la zoo.  i don’t think i’ve ever been there before so it was a pleasant surprise to see how big it was and how many different animals they had there.  mikey was super excited since he loooves going to see the animals.  we actually only got to about one-third of the zoo since we were there just for the afternoon, but we got a good deal on annual passes so we’ll definitely be going back!  if you’re up for a zoo day, definitely let me know cuz we got free passes, too!   we first visited the “children’s…

    crystal cove

    we went to crystal cove with my brother’s family on saturday evening to take some pictures together.  here are some of my favorites.   the kim family       the tsai family   my very favorite picture ever of allie and me (thanks joanna for taking it!).   clowning around   the kiddos   the whole gang.  we might use this one to give to my parents for christmas.

    double take

    people always say that allie looks just like me.  but i couldn’t really see it since she has a lot of phil’s features.  until i saw this picture.  we have the SAME EXACT smile!!    er, laugh actually, since we were both laughing in this picture. is it weird that i gave birth to my own twin?

    the lo-ord told noah, “there’s gonna be a floody, floody”

    we were able to join stella, eunice, and evangeline at the noah’s ark exhibit in the skirball museum this past thursday thanks to stella who reserved tickets a month in advance so that we could all go for free!  i just checked the website and found that thursdays are booked through december, so it might be awhile before we can go back, but we had a wonderful time and it was great to catch up a bit with some hbc moms.   listening intently to the docent just before going in to play!   just one small part of the huge exhibit.  it was great for little hands because you could…
