    simple pleasures

    one thing i really love to do is to watch my family members do the things they love.  for instance, i love watching phil watch something he finds really entertaining.  it’s hilarious because he gets all animated, his head will make little movements, he’ll start nodding, and his lips will start moving.  all unbeknownst to him!  hard to describe, but really funny to watch.  with allie, it’s watching her eat something she really enjoys.  she’ll start saying, “mmm…  mmm…”, open wide for another bite as soon as she’s done, get all impatient if the bite is too slow in coming, and then she’ll purse her little lips together as she…

    queen mary

    this past saturday we had the opportunity to tour the queen mary in long beach.  phil figured it’d be a good place to let the kids run around since it’s such a big ship and all.    it was a long walk to enter the ship, made even longer since allie insisted on walking by herself much of the way.  going side to side instead of forward.    and made even longer since i couldn’t resist taking lots of pictures of her walking self!   finally aboard, we checked out these replicas where you could see the different rooms inside the ships.    i looooved little miniature stuff like this…

    keeping cool

    this past week has been so hot.  upper 80s-90s.  not unbearably hot by any means, but still quite warm for the coast.  and our one little window a/c definitely hasn’t been able to keep the place cool.  especially when i have to run the dryer.  that’s located in the hall closet.  with no outside vent.  ugh.  we’ve sure been missing central air!  phil is *this* close to buying another portable a/c but i want to hold off and see if we can make it through without it.  we’re pretty sure we want to move after our lease is up next year and i think one of the things high on the…
