    saying goodbye

this past weekend was booked full for us with two parties and a wedding.  friday night was the “transitional graduation party” for phil.  i’m not sure why they called it a “graduation” but it was for all the transitional interns who are completing their first year of residency.  it was pretty informal as it was held in someone’s backyard, but i was happy because dinner was served and the kids had a great time! there was a face painter/balloon animal maker there.  though mikey opted to have his hand painted instead.   here he is proudly showing off his newly painted thomas the train.  he was very careful to avoid…

    zoo day

this past saturday, phil had the day off and we pretended like we don’t have a giant move coming up and a ton of things that need to get done.  instead, we joined our good friends, the schnells, at the minnesota zoo for some family fun.  once again, i picked up some passes from the library so this visit was free~e~e! this time, we got to visit the farm portion of the zoo.  here’s phil with his two ‘kids’.  ha ha.   jenna and mikey gave this goat a good brush-down.   after lunch, we headed off to see some more animals.  here are the dads and kids observing prairie…

    what?! what time is it?!

thanks everyone for your care and concern for us.  we’re doing well- we had our time of being sad but overall, just feel great thankfulness for the way God took care of us in the past week.  health-wise, i’m doing fine and didn’t need any medical stuff done, so we’re thankful for that.  we’ve been extra thankful for mikey and allie too, just looking at them and being so happy that they’re part of our family and are healthy and thriving.  and even being thankful for how busy life has been for us lately– just keeping up after two active little ones has really helped keep me from dwelling on all the many what-ifs which…

    Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed be Your name When the sun’s shining down on me When the world’s ‘all as it should be’ Blessed be Your name Blessed be Your name On the road marked with suffering Though there’s pain in the offering Blessed be Your name Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise When the darkness closes in, Lord Still I will say Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your glorious name You give and take away You give and take away My heart will choose to say Lord, blessed be Your name   the Lord…

i’ve been having some bleeding that started yesterday, lasted through the night, and is continuing today.  i called my doctor’s office and they wanted me to come in this afternoon for an ultrasound.  but because phil is working a 12-hour shift and i wasn’t sure that i could find someone to watch mikey and allie on such short notice, i asked if i could go tomorrow instead.  so i have an appointment for 2pm tomorrow. i don’t know what the findings will be but cling to the truth of what i read today on the girltalk blog– that the God for whom nothing is too hard can be trusted to the end. …
