    she’s growin’ up!

    allie’s become quite the moving machine lately.  just within the last month, she’s perfected her wobbly crawl much to mikey’s delight who loves to get down and crawl with her.  she’s figured out how to sit up by herself.  and she’s busily trying to figure out how to pull herself up as well.  my little baby keeps insisting on growing up!  also in her quest to leave babyhood behind, she’s apparently decided that i’m yesterday’s news.  her very last time nursing was sunday morning and she’s completely weaned now.  it started with a nursing strike a month ago when she’d only nurse first thing in the morning and refuse the…

    what do you call a kid who bundles up in twenty layers of clothes just to play in the snow for twenty frigid minutes?  a minnesotan.    it’s hard to believe that spring is just around the corner when it still feels like the dead of winter around here.  it’s currently 18 degrees and depressingly overcast.  but it was beautiful and sunny (though still very cold) over the weekend.  with over two feet of snow on the ground, we decided to brave the cold and enjoy our final minnesota winter.   mikey’s become a real fan of sledding lately.                                                                   meanwhile, allie stayed nice and toasty in…

    Today’s Weather Forecast

    from our local news station– Now Winter Storm Warnings continue through tomorrow evening, with Blizzard Warnings for Duluth & the North Shore as well as Southwestern MN.  Overnight snow totals averaged 1-4 inches with the heaviest reports of 4 inches in Red Wing and Litchfield.  Morning temps near freezing or slightly higher mean a risk of mixed precipitation including freezing drizzle, rain & snow.  The first round of snow & mix has swept into Northern MN.  The main system is moving in ahead of schedule which means deteriorating conditions through the rest of today.  There have been reports of thundersnow with this system as well, bringing heavy bursts of snowfall..   The Outlook…
