“date night”
i recently brought to phil’s attention that our last date took place on october 12, 2005. 2005, people! so, we decided that we need to have dates again. but it’s a little tricky with phil’s busy work schedule and having two little ones, one that still nurses. on top of that is phil’s reluctance to have people babysit for us. being the nice guy that he is, i know that he really doesn’t like to inconvenience or impose on anyone like that. never been a problem for me though! anyway, we’re trying a new experiment. once a month, we shall have a date night… at home. initially, we thought we…

let’s go fly a kite!
we took advantage of yesterday’s breezy afternoon by having lunch and flying a kite in a nearby park. at first, phil tried to be ‘one-man show’ and get the kite flying by himself. he ended up doing lots of running trying to get that kite up into the air. boy, it was hard keeping the camera steady to take pictures what with me laughing my head off at this point. my husband cracks me up. then, mikey wanted to give it a try. when my brother and i were kids, we used to get kites up in the air by one of us holding up the kite and the other one running…

back to normal
whew! thankfully, the rest of the weekend wasn’t quite as exciting around here. btw, mikey’s just fine, little booger. so what was i saying? oh yeah, allie’s current mission to grow up. not only is she eating solids now, she’s also a rolling machine! any time i’d lay her down, she’d promptly flip over to her tummy. but then, she wasn’t quite as good as rolling back, so she’d get stuck. and mad. hee hee. last week, i was sitting by the crib to change mikey’s diaper. i looked over and saw this: wazzzzzuuuppp? oh how we all love these cubby chubby cheekies! it wasn’t long before mikey discovered allie’s…

true story 2
piggy-backing off of dan’s post… so last night we were invited to dinner at the home of one of phil’s former med school classmates and his wife. (boy, that was a mouthful!). i was looking forward to it all week long. a night where dinner was made for us and a chance for some adult conversation. yay, me! so i get myself, mikey, and allie all ready. wake up phil (who’s post-call) and have him take a shower and get ready. we head out and get there, a little early even! as soon as i get mikey out of the car and set him down, he immediately shakes his head saying,…

she’s growing up!
so i just blinked and allie decided to grow up on me! she’s now almost 6 months old. i feel like i just had her! so last weekend, i started feeding her solids. she’s been ready for a little while now, but i held it off as long as i could. because now, all i do ALL day long is feed someone or change their diapers! but there’s plenty of fun things that happen in between to keep us all entertained and happy. thankfully, allie’s tongue-thrust reflex has all but disappeared, so she didn’t push the food out. she did, however, have this permanent frown fixed on her face during the…
