drumroll please…                       we tsais are happy and humbled to announce…                               phil matched!!!       all the medical students were notified this morning whether or not they matched for a residency.  now the waiting continues until thursday when everyone finds out where they matched.  but we are so RELIEVED and THANKFUL to know that the Lord has provided a position for phil in the field he wanted to train in.  God is so good.  the REAL dr. phil (heh heh!): what?  you thought this would be a baby announcement? …

so i *think* i’m having more contractions tonight.  except, i’ve kinda forgotten what real contractions feel like so i’m not sure if these are the real deal or not.  last time it all went so fast (and my contractions never really became steady, they just kept coming quicker and quicker) that this time, my doctor told me to go to the hospital whenever i start feeling them again.  so phil’s upstairs scurrying around doing last minute tidying up just in case we have to call our friends tonight and i’m sitting here trying to convince myself that it’s just anxiety and we don’t really have to go.  yet.  for a…

apparently, baby #2 is anxious to meet us!  i was having some irregular contractions a couple of nights ago and didn’t really think too much of it. this morning was the first of my weekly prenatal appointments.  the nurse practitioner checked me and it turns out the baby’s head is very low (her exact words: “whoa!  her head is right there !”) and i’m 2-3 cm dilated already.  so it looks like the irregular contractions got something started!  this is how far along i was when i went into labor with mikey.  double .  the n.p. suggested i go home and get my bag packed as she was pretty sure…

we took mikey to underwater adventures, the aquarium in the mall of america this past sunday.  seems like we’re trying to pack in little outings with mikey before baby #2 comes and before phil starts his busy intern year.  only 29 days left before little girl arrives! the koi in this pond seemed kinda hungry…  or are they always like that?! there was this cool long tunnel with a moving walkway where you could see sharks, stingrays, and other HUGE fish swim around your head.  mikey seems pretty nonchalant about that shark just a foot or two away from him.  guess he figured daddy would protect him! and look!  we found nemo!  petting a stingray… waiting…
