mikey had the awesome opportunity to take part in our church’s 7-weekbasketball league this summer. the program was called T3 (triumphthrough teamwork) and the coaches taught K-3rd graders fundamentalbball skills as well as talked to them about the gospel each week.i wasn’t sure how mikey would like playing basketball but figured we’d give it a try. though his skills could definitely use some improvement, overall, mikey had a blast! taking a practice shot. hmm, not sure which hoop he was aiming for. team huddle. mikey and his teammates voted to name themselves “thefrench fries”. that’s their coach david sitting with them. two of hiskids came to be his assistant coaches-…

so last week, mikey and allie were both able to attend our church’s vacation bible school. last year, only mikey was old enough to go, but he made it for just two of the days since lauren had literally just been born the weekend before it started. at the time, he was extra worried about being away from me since he seemed to think i’d be back in the hospital if he left my side. poor little guy. thankfully this year, things are much more stable and normal in our house, so both kiddos made it every day and loved every minute of it! they had such a good time…

tonight, during our usual bedtime routine of bible story-turn off light-sharing what we’re thankful for-praying-humming a lullaby-tucking kiddos in bed-giving one last goodnight kiss and snuggle-blowing two kisses before shutting the door, i asked mikey and allie if they were thankful for vbs. (vbs started today and both kids LOVED their first day, wanted to play the music cd we got for the rest of the day and night- which we did, and talked about, and sang along to, all day). but when sharing what they were thankful for tonight, mikey said he was thankful for his toy crane and allie said she was thankful for her princess ‘b’ (aka…

two weeks ago, we were able to go to our church’s retreat which was held at the beautiful pepperdine campus. the theme of the retreat was “above” which was based on colossians 3:1-2 and the speaker was none other than nam park! it was really fun to see him and his family again and to hear some classic “nam” stories- including the infamous cheese toast incident. which of course, our church milked to death over the rest of the retreat. you know, nam was the speaker at the first retreat i went to with vkcc’s college group. it was kinda cool that he was the speaker at this retreat too-…
