    we woke up this morning to this:   not quite the 4-8 inches with heavy winds they were predicting last night, but a lovely dusting instead.  too bad it was too cold and too icy to let mikey out to play in it this afternoon! btw, here’s mikey and me (and bear) doing our nightly cuddle before he goes down to bed.  now add in a sippy-top bottle of milk and you’ll see why we’re both so reluctant to give it up!    *update* phil just got offered an interview at harbor-ucla!!!  after a slew of rejections (too discouraging to list them all ) we’re SO encouraged with this news.  trusting…

    not only do i have a bunch of things to get done, but mikey’s got his own list of to-do’s as well! *feed himself with a spoon *hold own sippy cup of milk (we still cuddle together on the rocking chair while i hold his milk bottle for him, baby-style.  but we did switch over to a sippy spout a while ago.) *transition out of crib my baby’s got a bit of growing up to do before he becomes a big brother!    any tips on how to do any of the above would be greatly appreciated!

    mommy-do list so i’m not sure if the ‘nesting instinct’ is kicking in already, but ever since we found out we’re having a girl, i’ve been feeling quite pressured to get all my little projects done before baby gets here.  before life as i know it ends forever.  heh heh.  i’m just picturing myself never completing a project again until i’m 50. *paint mikey’s name train *finish mikey’s baby book *laminate pages of homemade alphabet book (anyone know where i can get laminating done for cheap?) *make cushion covers out of blue sheet for daybed *shorten and hem 5 pairs of pants (sad but true, i have to do this…

    movin’ on up mikey was ‘promoted’ to nursery 3 this past sunday at church.  he’s in the big time now!   course, he’s still the littlest one in the 18-24 month crew.  all the nursery rooms are so wonderfully structured and designed to follow the church’s familiar banner statement to “spread a passion for the supremacy of GOD in all things, for the joy of all [babies] through Jesus Christ.”  nursery workers pray over the babies, teach them simple Bible truths, and sing songs.  additionally in nursery 3, the kiddos get snack time (graham crackers and water), blow soap bubbles, have marching time, color, and play with a big parachute thingy. the room…

      it’s a girl!!!     baby did a good job cooperating even with all the wiggling she did during the ultrasound exam.  here’s her first picture!   and just for fun, here’s an ultrasound pic of mikey taken in december, 2003.
