update on phil’s residency interview prospects: iowa said no thanks.  well fine!  we didn’t wanna live in iowa anyway!  punks!  they were happy to accept phil’s application fee tho.  but!  usc has offered phil an interview!!!    he has yet to schedule the date.  how crazy would that be if we ended up back in the la area?!  pray, pray, pray for phil during these upcoming months.  for God to lead us where He wants us to go, to open just the right doors to make it happen, for phil to do well in interviews, to get nice interviewers, and for us to be able to afford all these plane…

phil and i went on a date last friday!  we got tickets to go see the cirque du soleil corteo show since it’s playing here in town.  (jane, it’s headed to san jose in january!)  it definitely felt weird to be out without mikey and get to see the whole show undistracted.  i felt like a kid again! phil and me on our big date.  (like how we’re posing with our refreshments?)   and mikey did great with his babysitter, our good friend adam.  i was a bit concerned since we had to leave him in the middle of his nap and wasn’t sure how he’d react to waking up without us…

california, oregon, utah, arizona, new mexico, minnesota, wisconsin, iowa, illinois, missouri. those are the places phil has applied to for residency.  in no particular order.  except for maybe the first one.    the personal statement has been written and revised and re-revised.  the recommendation letters have been collected.  the resume updated.  the publications, job experience, qualifications, and research have all been duly noted.  so now we’ll wait and see where he gets interviews and then see where he matches in march (and pray that he DOES match somewhere, anywhere!).  and of course pray, pray, pray for God’s will to be done and for Him to be glorified with whatever the…
