ok, so i can’t be in denial any longer– fall is officially upon us.  chilly weather, changing leaves, long pants and sleeves.  time even to bring out the down comforter once again!  so i didn’t quite make it before the season ended, but here are a few pictures of our summer fun. mikey’s been getting more and more interested in animals (though he calls every animal, including birds and fish, ‘dah!’- his word for ‘dog’) so we took him to the minnesota zoo. here he is hanging out with his new buddy.   mikey and daddy wondering if we could hitch a ride on the camel back to the buildings with a/c.  it was HOT…

the biggest scare of my life. we lost mikey this afternoon!  for all of three minutes, but they were the SCARIEST three minutes of. my. life.  phil had a rare afternoon off so the three of us were in an asian supermarket browsing around and filling our cart with snacks.  we are champion snackers.  mikey was getting restless just sitting in the cart, so we let him out to walk around in the aisle.  when i’m alone with mikey, i keep him in my sights at all times, but i’ve realized now that i get way more lax when i know phil’s around thinking one or both of us is…

whelp, i’m back from the dead.  sort of.  morning sickness is just about gone but the tiredness still lingers to where i still prefer to nap while mikey naps instead of getting on the computer.  but now i’ve got a bunch of summer pictures piling up just can’t be ignored any longer!  i need to post them while it still feels like summer. anyway, we’re all still hanging in there, phil’s busier than ever at the hospital (working 80-hour weeks and most weekends as well), so mikey and i have been trying to make the most of these beautiful, warm days. mikey’s turned into quite the pro at walking outside in…

good news!  mikey’s illness only lasted a day and he’s now back to his regular happy self.  whew.  the doctor found some red lesions in the back of his mouth (most probably an infection caused by constantly sucking on his not-always-clean fingers) which he said might have caused his stomach upset.  thankfully it isn’t hand-foot-mouth disease, either. on with more good news- mikey also has just learned how to walk with shoes on.    so to celebrate, we walked to our mailbox yesterday evening.  he was so proud of himself.  cleared a speedbump and everything!  today, we spent a little time at the park and he was SO happy to finally be able…

mikey has come down with some bug or other tonight.  btw, is it normal for kids to get sick so often?!  i feel like he’s sick every other time i look at him!  he’s been throwing up all night and hasn’t been able to keep anything down.  poor baby.    course, smelling all that vomit is doing wonders for my own nausea.  *heh heh, sarcasm.* phil’s been at work since 6 this morning and is on call at the hospital tonight and won’t be home til late tomorrow afternoon.  hoo boy. to make matters even more complicated, i have my big once-a-year meeting for my work tomorrow morning that’s supposedly…
