please keep the mailly family in your prayers.  though we don’t know this family personally, they attend bethlehem with us.  this past week, their baby son, mathias, was born and died 40 hours later.  the cord got wrapped around his neck 30 minutes before he was born in such a way that it cut off his oxygen supply.  he was born brain-dead and the family decided to let him go.  our pastor says the family is doing well, as well as can be expected in the deep grief they are in, but are doing well as those who have hope in the Lord. there was a white rose on the…

this pregnancy is SO different from the first one!  perhaps the best and weirdest quirk is that i’m LOVING veggies right now.  very odd considering how i loathed and despised them when pg with mikey.  seriously, i could not even stand the smell of bell peppers and carrots actually made me throw up.  i was all about the big macs and whoppers back then.  now, if it’s veggie-crisp and crunchy, i’ll gobble it up! the yucko part is that i’m already feeling nauseous!  the first time, it started at 8 weeks, came in pretty strong waves but would go away as suddenly as it came on.  this time, it started at 5…

it was like my birthday in the mailbox today!  little known fact about me: i love reading cookbooks.  i read them like they’re novels- cover to cover.  strange, yes.  but when have i ever claimed to be normal?  ha ha.  so i recently ordered two rachael ray cookbooks from overstock and they both arrived today.  great prices on both books and only $1 shipping for my entire order!  i love a good deal. so lately, i’ve seen a few episodes of 30-minute meals on food network and even tried a few recipes out.  both phil and i have really been liking the food.  i love that she uses a lot of fresh…
