uh-oh…  mikey woke up coughing this morning.  please, please don’t get sick now! 

whew!  phil’s currently doing a rotation in internal medicine.  we just had a super long week where phil had to work 7 days in a row where he was at the hospital 10-15 hours per day.  that meant a lot of days where mikey didn’t get to see his daddy at all.  perhaps the hardest part is that when phil’s gone, it’s virtually impossible to get a hold of him.  rarely does he get to call home during the day, even if i page him!  and any time phil wasn’t working, he was supposed to be studying, so the bit of family time we did squeeze in was laced with the guilty knowledge…

being married to a medical student is hard.  some of the time.  ok, a lot of the time.  i am so, so tired.

ahhh, minnesota.  after almost four years of living here, we finally rented ‘fargo’ to watch the other night.  and boy!  some of the depictions were right on about life in minne-soh-tah and it was downright sad that we actually recognized many of the places in the movie, like ‘hey, that’s by jim lupient’s auto mall!’ and the part where the guy is trying to scrape the ice off his windshield, well, i’ve lived that scene one too many times.  but those accents, where in the world did their accents come from?!  we’ve never heard anyone here sound even remotely close.  there IS a certain accent that i can’t quite nail…
