my foray into the world of soccer moms
so now that i’m feeling more like my old self, i’ve been on the lookout for some type of exercise class for mikey to burn off some of his boundless energy. the idea of mikey getting to run around while someone else kept up with him– very appealing. a couple friends suggested a program called “soccer for tots”, a 45-minute weekly class that introduces the basics of soccer to 3-5 year olds. perfect! except that i signed up a bit late and it didn’t look like we’d get a spot until the summer. but then i got a call last week saying they had a cancellation and mikey was first on the waiting…

weekend ski trip
this is a bit out of order, but i still wanted to post pics anyway… we were able to go with my brother’s family to big bear for a weekend ski trip. actually, only johnny and phil ended up hitting the slopes, but we had a great time together just hanging out, watching movies, talking, eating deeelicious food (is it just me or is food eaten over the weekend in a cabin especially yummy?), playing games (after the kids went to bed- yahoo!), and enjoying the snow. the time went by far too quickly. we didn’t go skiing, but phil found a place nearby for us to go tubing. here are…

20 weeks today!
well, i’ve made it to the halfway point with our little one. been feeling muuuuch better ever since week fifteen, though the extra energy never did kick in. i’m still exhausted most days! but that could very well have more to do with a certain 3-year-old and an almost 2-year-old since i’ve been tired even before getting pregnant. i’ve been feeling lots of kicks and bumps in there. this one could be our most active one yet! yikes. my dad predicted about a month ago that we’d be having a little boy, or in his words, “a very wild boy, just like his grandpa” based on a dream he said…

vacation recap
i’ve finally got a moment of peace and a spurt of energy to get this done. ahh, vacation. feels so long ago now that we’re back to our regular grind of daily life. but looking at these pics now brings back happy memories of good times spent together as a family. so phil had a glorious two weeks off at the end of january. we spent the entire time together– a day at disneyland, a few days at my dad’s place, and a five-day cruise to mexico. unfortunately, it was cold and rainy almost the whole time we were on the ship, but we managed to find fun things to do…

keepin’ me in stitches
mikey’s lately been cracking us up with the things he’s been saying. i wanted to write these down before i forget them. after lunch today, i picked him up from his seat and gave him a big bear hug. mikey protested, “don’t squeeze me mommy, i’m not lemonade!” a few nights ago we were eating dinner in a restaurant booth. mikey comes and stands next to me, chummily slings his arm around my shoulder and declares, “this is my girl, mommy.” phil and i had a good laugh over that one. and yes, yes, i promise vacation pics and recap coming soooon. i meant to do it over…
