what we did on our summer vacation
it already feels so long ago, but phil got the first two weeks of may off for vacation. soooo nice to have him home with us. it was extra nice to see mikey and allie get especially attached to daddy and ask for him each morning. and i definitely got spoiled by having his help every day. the low back pain, fatigue, leg cramps, random aches and pains, shallow breathing, and frequent bathroom trips of third trimester pregnancy seem to have hit me all at once as soon as phil returned to work. made that much tougher since they packed in as much call as he’d take in a month…

birthday bash
we threw a little party for mikey here at the house last saturday. we’re not quite settled in yet and just barely finished moving our stuff out of the old place, but are soooo happy to have a place where we can entertain friends again. so, things at the party were a little ghetto (i felt like i could’ve used another day to get ready!), but hopefully no one minded and had a good time anyway. i know mikey had a blast, which made me happy at the end of the day. thoroughly exhausted, but happy. it proved to be quite a challenge to take pictures while running around hosting the party, so i…

mikey’s turn!
after waiting patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) through each of our birthdays, mikey’s turn finally came! we planned a party for him on saturday, so his actual birthday was somewhat low-key, but still full of happy surprises. phil wanted to give him a present from us first thing in the morning. so we tiptoed into his room to find him still asleep. but he popped right up at the mention of a present to open. i love his still-sleepy eyes here. mikey’s response when i asked him how old he was: later in the afternoon, we found a surprise package waiting outside the front door. …
