    Staycation, Day 2

    So day two of our staycation found us down in San Diego. Jumped into the Mustang after church and took off for a day trip. Just because we could. Spent the afternoon doing a little outlet shopping. Also just because we could. And for dinner…                                                               Not to worry though because I’ve got three whole days left of our staycation to relive!

    Staycation, Day 1

    Just as soon as VBS was over on Friday, we loaded up the kids and all their stuff and whisked them off to Ventura where we met the grandparents for a switcheroo. They took our van full o’ kids back to their house while we drove my dad’s green truck back to our house. For a glorious five-day staycation. We figured instead of spending money on a hotel for only a couple of nights, we’d put it towards eating instead and stretch out our normal two to three day getaway into five days.     Just Be

    One of my favorite things to do as a mom is quietly watch my kids just be who God made them to be. Each with their own interests and hobbies and way of just enjoying time to themselves.                               They all mesh together and they are each their own person.     The Church Retreat

    We were able to attend our all-church retreat this past summer. The kids and I went on Thursday while Phil had to work one more night shift before joining us on Friday afternoon. Let’s just say that my having to pack up the five of us, load up all our gear, drive us over to Biola, get us checked in, find our room, get everything unloaded and settled, walk ourselves to the dining hall, help each kid get food and start eating, get them checked into the childcare room, get myself to the chapel, get everyone checked out again, walk back to our room, get them all ready for bed…
